Hi, Just got my very first bike and am enjoying all the shared info on this site!
I got my Vulcan after also trying out an’06 Honda Shadow 600 and a ’05 Suz. Intruder 800 .
The Shadow felt too loose in the steering ( too easy to turn) and my right leg could feel the heat of the pipes. The Intruder was nice but it just felt like too much bike. Almost all the advise I got, said go for the bigger bike. Until my husband finally said “you have to go with your gut”. Well my gut and my heart both told me that the 500 was big enough. I haven’t had it very long but I am very pleased with my choice. I don’t plan on doing any long trips on it. My husband has a V-Star for the two of us, mine will be just for those short afternnon rides.
