    Hi Guys..

I’m a 30 something that’s finally getting round to doing his license, this has involved a whole lot of sentences along the lines of “no I am NOT going to kill myself” muttered in the general direction of she who must be (under the illusion she is being) obeyed :) so I’d better not kill myself or she’ll umm, well kill me all over again.

    Anyway..

I have a huge thing for Triumph, definitely the marque for me, namely the Street Triple R and the Tiger (1050, “roadie”) being the main two objects of my affection.
I must say that I was (typically for me and moronically) going to go for the street triple as my first machine, now I realise that if I did that, at best I would probably not progress as far as I want skills-wise and at worst I’d probably end up bike rubber up, myself all inside out and that’d just ruin anyone’s morning :)

I think I’d have sussed it out for myself anyway before buying the machine but this place certainly helped in waking me up a little quicker, I’m going to do my DAS on the schools 500cc but when passed I am going to put at least 10k miles on a Ninja 250R before reviewing the situation bike-wise, besides they look kinda tasty for a 250 anyway.

Oh, and I am definitely ATGATT minded..

Good website guys (both admin and inmate) I’m enjoying the reading!

Welcome from another newbie who’s also a 30 something (at least for the next month)!

I gotta say I share your affinity for Triumphs, but the bikes you mentioned (while quite beautiful) are a little scary for me right now. That Street Triple sure does look like fun though… maybe one day.

    Hi Lance

    Thanks for the welcome..

It’s a shame Triumph don’t make something a bit more suited to the beginner really, an updated Tiger Cub maybe? or a smaller naked along the lines of the Street Triple – even a baby Daytona, I’m not fussy :o)

There have been rumours about the updated Tiger Cub for ages, although I don’t honestly believe it will ever happen, it would be nice to see them take a serious stab at the dual sports market, now that all off road pretence has been stripped from the Tiger, a dual Cub would be perfect.

Still, the current situation gives us a nice little prize to aim for as our skills develop doesn’t it? ;o)
