Officially hit a PBR of 2:10 at Thill. Running solid A pace times consistently now. Low rider attendance is fricking awesome. I think next year, it’s gonna be more midweek open trackdays and less weekend group format trackdays where every d-bag and their mother attends. Oh yeh, it was frickin’-a cold and when the track first went hot it was 45F. It did end up warming as the day went on. 67F by the end of the day.

As I’m sure you know, I’m jealous as hell!

Do you guys not get open trackdays where you’re at? They’re definitely way better than group format trackdays.

Here’s a cuts vid of the day:

Not sure how long that vid will be there or if it’ll get the audio shut off since I r copeerite offendar… i got a vid uploaded to my FB account that’s accessible if we be FB buddies or your FB buddies…

Unfortunately not. Is that where you can just get on the track any time you want? How do they make sure that complete doofballs don’t go out there and ride a slow-ass pace? Lap time limit?

That’s a sweet vid. I really, really, really want to get out to those tracks you ride. They look so awesome. There’re a few points in your video in which it looks so surreal, almost like a video game: there’s nothing around you, just track, and slowly-rejuvenating grass.

Hey speaking of which, now that my master’s program is drawing to a close, I’m looking to maybe go back to Google (about to finish up last round of interviews), though I’d still have to work up here. I’m getting waaaaay ahead of myself now, but if I was thinking that I could maybe drive down to MTV for the first week orientation (I have to do it again, right?) with my bike, maybe come a bit early and catch a track day before and after. Again, counting chickens before they hatch, but my fantasies seem to survive pessimism somehow. Anyway, in this absurd fantastical world, you should probably show me the ropes of your local tracks =D

Well… there’s nothing from stopping a complete noob from registering. They’re just a road block you need to get around. Usually at the rider’s meeting someone will ask who the complete track noobs are and hopefully someone will give a tow for a couple of laps. That’s what i did for 3 complete track noobs that day. And if the turnout is light like it was that day chances are you won’t see ’em at all… hahaha. You have no idea how difficult it was finding other riders to put in the vid. lolol…

Why would you still need to work up in .wa.us? just come on down and find something in cali. We got all the tracks and all the awesome roads. and lane splitting’s legal around here. :P

Too many things holding me to this area:

    1) I’m in a 2-year lease with four of my closest friends, can’t up and bail (nor do I want to).
    2) My Dad’s 79 and needs some company.
    3) My girlfriend’s still finishing up grad school here. We did the long-distance thing in undergrad for a bit (she was at NYU for a year), and I have NO inclination to do it again.

But I am jealous of all the tracks you have…man….

Ah… understood… well the good news is that these tracks aren’t going anywhere, so there’s always a chance to ride ’em. :-)
