    Hiya folks,

I’m 32, and am 5’11” 230lbs. Until two days ago, I couldn’t even identify the throttle on a motorcycle.

I was born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland, schooled in Troy, New York as a Biomedical Engineer, and employed as a design and development engineer up and down the east coast since ’98.

    My real name is Jim.

I’ve wanted to ride a motorcycle since pulling the brakes and skidding out on a ‘Big Wheel’ at the age of 4. Mine was an ‘Incredible Hulk’ model circa about 1979. I would also like to be an astronaut. I suspect the urges for both space exploration and motorcycle cruising are identical.

My ultimate bike is a BMW R1200c Phoenix or Montana. After taking the MSF class, however, I’ll be starting with a 250 whatever. On anything bigger, they’d find my body 90 feet up in the Carolina pines with the last rictus of a smile biodegrading on my broken, helmeted head.

I’ve read a great many of the reviews and articles to know I belong here even though many of the postings hail from the left coast. Motorcycle riding, it seems, is one of those few activities that transcend political and social mores.

    I rather like that.

In any case my name is Jim, my handle is ‘biojimmy’, and I’m proud to make your acquaintance.

    -Jim-

Welcome. I am from TN and I think that CA just has more of motorcycle culture.

I was born in Annapolis, MD and grew up just outside of Syracuse, NY. Either way, welcome aboard and good luck.

What …you mean there is 2 of us here in the triangle that can navigate the web? Well if I ever see ya on 40 know I am likely one of the few to wave. Where’d ya get the MSF? I am taking it through Ray Price …shortest waiting list. Anyway , howdy . BTW I am a dieing breed here…. NC native.

I know the feeling… I knew every rope swing, dirt road and fishing hole in three counties…. half the fishing holes are parking lots… the place I grew up is no longer a house but one building of an entire apartment complex, the horse pasture where I learned to drive a car doesn’t exist, is now a parking lot…to the complex. I feel your pain. I am just patiently waiting for the corporate locusts to run out of resources and tax breaks then they can leave .
