Dilemma

So as I’ve seen on a few posts here, the weather is starting to get a tiny bit cold. Fortunately, I’m in New Mexico where the weather is not too bad. My little GS500 doesn’t really like the temps in the 50s or below, but with some TLC and CHOKE! lol I can get her goin… My dilemma is that it will start frosting here in a few weeks (which always melts early) BUT I live in an apartment with no covered parking… Being a newbie, I’m not sure how the bike will do with the frost and frozen temps… I keep a cover on it all the time but my other options are: 1) leave it in the parking lot covered and ride as much as possible to keep in lubricated through the winter (we don’t have bad winters so that means I’d need some cold weather gear and probably get to ride a couple times a month due to my crappy schedule and morning/night icy roads (drops to single digits at night in the middle of winter and up into the 30s most days at the COLDEST) …. 2) Take the bike up to my family’s house with a garage, protected from the elements, 30 miles away and probably not do much riding at all…. which is better for the bike? Suggestions anyone?!?

I was in a hurry to get my shed done so I could park the bike in there for the winter, and keep it out of the weather in the summer. I have faith in a Michigan winter to strip nearly any cover.
But if your winters allow you to ride a couple times every month, not having the bike seems pretty harsh.
