credit bad need a bike before the summer up!!

i do not have good credit i want a motocycle any ideas on how can i get approved. would any thing help like if i put a down like $2000 for a bike that cost say 6-10 grand.

April 28, 2009 at 3:19 am #18073LanceDParticipantIf you’ve got the $2k to put down, why not just buy a decent used bike on craigslist for the $2k and put what you’re thinking you can pay monthly in an account for the next bike. I’m sure there are lots of people here who disagree, but anything you buy solely for the enjoyment of it has to fall into the “toy” category (finance wise). Financing toys is a great way to stay broke.

April 28, 2009 at 11:46 pm #18086SantaCruzRiderParticipantI bought a used bike off CL and have been very happy with it. Cost me a fraction of new price and so far no issues other than cosmetic that was clearly visible at purchase.
But I totally get the attraction of new. As a compromise, you might see if there’s an area dealer who carries 2-5 yr old bikes or a local consignment shop for used bikes. Many of them offer financing (but be careful, as you hear horror stories about some unreputable 3rd party financers).
