ParticipantDon’t plan on running up and down 3 flights of stairs from my apartment with towels and lil’ buckets of water (if I even have a bucket).
For those w/o adequate access to a nice house and garage, and car wash places is out of the question (drive thru) for the most part…
What do you use to clean off the dust/dirt that collects on a bike?
Black shows up a lot of dust from the construction from a nearby complex that’s being remodeled or something. 😮
There’s a few near me, but not sure how they would to motorcycles.

ParticipantDid you hit a dog or something???
Ride it and don’t sweat the grime.
If you’re too anal for that, try spray Pledge. Works for me.May 6, 2009 at 10:25 am #18202Munch
Participant“Original Bike Spiris” is what I use. Sangria also had a product report in his editorial for another waterless cleaner too. Grab any of those and a micro fiber and you’ll have it done easily. Takes e 10 mins to clean my bike. I don’t have any kind of cover other then a dust cover…. and lots of chrome.

ParticipantRemember how kids used to write on the windows of vehicles like… “Clean me!” and such?
Mine had gotten pretty dusty with all the construction nearby. The black isn’t exactly black!

Participant$40 bucks for a can of cleaner? Maybe I’m missing something, but I got a pack of soft clothes for less than $10, a plastic bucket for $4, and an $8 bottle of wet/dry spray wax from Turtle Wax or Armorall or something. It takes me all of 5 minutes to wipe down my bike with a wet cloth, spray it with the wax, and then dry it with a second cloth. It’s so easy that I do it almost every week and my bike always looks brand spanking new.
Seriously, it’s so fast and easy that I actually enjoy doing it… and I’m super lazy. Also, since I do it so frequently, I don’t even use soap anymore. The wax helps to keep the dirt from sticking, so it’s easy to wipe right off.

Participant$40 who what when where? After about 12 cleanings of the 9 I am still on the original $4 can of “Original Bike Spirits” that I bought. That was back in January.

ParticipantAfter reading the above post, I went out on Friday and bought some. Used it on Sunday after my morning ride. Simple, easy, non-toxic. As the directions say, do NOT use paper towels. But after 10 minutes, my bike is shiny again!
