Butt Test another…

OK, nothing big, really. But I butt tested a bike the other day that I’d read a lot about elsewhere, but not on here.

So far, my money is still on the V Star 650. But after the classes, we’ll have to have a test drive or two for sure.

But really…the bike I tried out was a Triumph Speedmaster. What a lovely, comfy and inviting bike! And they have a solid reputation too, don;t they?

I can wait to try a few things out after classes.

Be warned that some (maybe most) dealerships won’t let you test ride unless you’ve had your license for some specified amount of time. To test ride at the place I got my bike, that amount of time was 3 years.

It has the same parallel twin cylinder engine as my last bike, a Triumph Bonneville, except that the pistons fire at 270 degrees for more of a vee-twin cruiser-type sound (the Bonnevilles are 360 degree firing).

Good quality, solid (and fairly heavy) bike with a two year warranty and Triumph dealerships may let you test ride.

I’d say a second bike though, not a first.

The test drive rule is disappointing, but considering the risk in riding bikes, it makes perfect sense. Thanks for the heads up, guys!
