Yee haw, the clouds rolled away, the sun was out and the skies were blue, so I was out on my bike for a good 2 hours just riding around ahving fun enjoying my ride. It was the longest I had ridden for and it felt good. It was pretty much the first nice weekend day of the year and there were so many other people out on their bikes as well – it was like a call went out, which the sun in this necks of the woods is like.
A good day to be out, and I feel fantastic today because of it!!

January 19, 2009 at 7:12 am #15797eonParticipantI was out on a day long group ride today and the weather was just freaking weird. Started off at 30′ with icy patches on the ground. Then we hit freezing fog which lasted for about an hour. Just when I thought my fingers were about to break off we turn a corner and get hit with WARM 40mph winds. I’m getting frostbite on my fingers and I feel hot air blowing up my helmet. The temp gauge on my bike went from 35′ to 60′ in the space of a few minutes. Then later on the winds died down and the temp dropped to a manageable 40′.A good day’s riding.
It was the first time I’ve been riding with you cruiser types. I can start to see the appeal of loud pipes. Definitely gives you a feeling of raw power but I’m not sure I could live with it every time I went out. Was only my second time out on a group ride and I’m not sure if I really like it. This group was a bit too bunched up for my liking, almost parade formation at times. I tried to hang off the back but didn’t manage always manage it. Nice to meet other riders though.

Temps were on the chilly side of nice, but I didn’t care. I think I might have ticked off a few cages behind me — aren’t sport bikers all supposed to be speed demons? Not me. I was just fine cruising along at 35, or 40, or whatever I felt like at the time. I’m sure I could have taken every corner a little faster than I did, but that will come when I know I can trust the pavement (and my skill a little more).

argh I am waiting on my tax return to get my V&H pipes for my Vstar. For now I just completed the 3-hole mod on the bike. I need to cut a video on the sound and post it on my youtube.
January 20, 2009 at 4:03 am #15840boulevardboyParticipantI would like to get out on a group ride as well, but I just don’t have the time to be that organized right now! As for the loud pipes, my Boulevard is not that loud at all compared to others, and I like it that way. I think that it would get rather pissed if that was all I could hear after a while.
