Hi all!
I am very glad to have found this site, there is a lot of great info here. I have already learned a ton from the basic guides provided to the gear reviews and bike reviews. Many of the posts have the extra input that I was exactly looking for.
I am from MN but am quite possibly moving down to MS after christmas of 08′. Soo…It’s like summer all the time there, why not get a bike? I ride a bicycle to work now and haven’t had any type of vehicle for quite some time and I am shopping for something to save for. Any advice on getting started would be great! I am an absolute beginner:D
I think this site could use a few more items to make it even better! (or maybe i just haven’t found them yet)
Such as:
-Links to other beginning motorcycle sites, motorcycle review sites, or gear sites (there are a few of these i have seen)
A more comprehensive list of beginner bikes, possibly by make, model, manufactuer…ect…
I may make a post later just to organize myself with. Would include manufactuer, models, prices, type of bikes (and what each one means…ie sport or dualsport, standard, cruiser. I didn’t know at first)
I will tell you what I am looking for and maybe I can get some help.
Something that would be relativley cheap-used. Would need to be able to ride on the freeway for a ways, possibly multi-state trips, and could carry some light luggage (books, clothes bla bla…saddlebags enough?, all bikes fit saddlebags?)
And comfy for longer rides! Thanks for the help again. I have been reading about bikes for almost 3 days straight!!! Help!

May 31, 2008 at 10:20 pm #6857ZenvolutionParticipantI have been looking at at cruisers mosly but there are a few dualsport I have been considering. I have another post where I am just listing things about as many beginner bikes I can get my head around. I have a long time before I actually get the bike(about a year) so I have time…

If there’s anything more important than my ego
around, I want it caught and shot now…May 31, 2008 at 11:43 pm #6869ZenvolutionParticipantI looked on newenough. com and it looks like they make specific saddlebags to connect to the tailbags as of 08. This is all coming together very nicely…
