hi there, i need some input. im a newbie and starting to shop around for a beginner 250cc bike. with the help of the website i was leaning towards a kawasaki 250r (which i guess would be classified as a sport bike). But now if i wanted to look into getting a cruiser, what bikes would be a good choice??
thanks. im looking forward to hearing back from ya all. also thanks for the review on the HJC FS-10. im gonna check out those helmets..
and thanks for this great website..

The 250 cruisers are fine, and if you are a total beginner and just want the smallest bike possible so that you’ll feel comfortable, I’d probably recommend the Vstar 250 among the 250 cruisers. But if your can find a Vulcan 500 and can afford a little extra money, I’d highly recommend the 500… it’s very forgiving with the throttle, not so much power that you’re going to kill yourself, but still has enough power to keep up with bigger bikes and to tackle the freeways. My wife was able to ride my 500 with no problem the first day I got it, so it’s not too big for a beginner to handle either.

Just pick whichever one you like the look / feel of. All of them are good and all have plenty of zip in them for a beginning rider.
I think the Suzuki GZ250, being a thumper (single cylinder), is a little slower and cheaper than the twins; nice looking bike though.
In a bigger bike, the Suzuki S40 looks nice too and although it’s a 650 c.c., it’s also a thumper and not nearly as fast as the Kawasaki Vulcan 500.
