    Hi,

    I’m 6’3″ / 180 lbs & haven’t been on a bike in 30 years.
Any thoughts on the best beginning bike for a tall person.

    Thanks,

    Michael

Looks as though the general consensus is a standard/cruiser style bike, as opposed to a sport bike is best for someone taller. Maybe a Honda Rebel or something like that?

Don’t outright discount a Ninja 250 before you sit on one, they are surprisingly roomy (says someone 6′ even). Buell Blast with full height seat as well (if you want the sport-standard type bike as opposed to cruiser).

Any 250cc Dual-sport will fit you.

Height is your only issue; I’m heavier than you (not by much) and even a :lowly” Rebel 250 will get me up to speed faster than traffic.

    Thanks for the suggestions Matt.
Yeah, I was thinking strong on the 2008 Ninja (250).
Great price, probably all the power I need at my present level of skill & pretty cool looking as well.
Only concerned that I would look like a stork on a mini bike since I haven’t seen one up close.

I will be taking the riding course on a Beull Blast.

Thinking in terms of a strickly road bike vs a dual sport.

    Thanks again for the input!

    Michael
