Just to show and remind you, that it’s not just the cars/trucks you need to be aware of, when following the rules of the roads. Don’t ignore them!

Someone was killed on the road I take to work when a mini-van made an unscheduled left into a gas station and cut off a motorcycle. A pedestrian failed to notice the large, loud machine bearing down on him and was killed by a motorcycle (look out for pedestrians, they’re at least as dumb as cagers). And one kid riding near my old apartment was hospitalized after he fell off his bike and into traffic.
There were sport bikes zipping up and down the main road by my house all weekend, and I don’t think I saw too many of the riders wearing anything more than a helmet. If that continues all summer, I expect we’ll see a death or two out there. They’re apparently not aware of the cop-shop just up the road from my house, or the river which provides a steady flow of wildlife up and over the road.

Temps in the low 70’s, and almost all of the riders I saw were wearing nothing more than T-shirts and jeans (all wore helmets — the only legal requirement). At least yesterday’s 100 miler saw more serious riders in gear (and near a military base).

Some of those people needed a square punch in the face to wake them up. I agree w/ Elwood that speed and misjudgment are probably the major contributors.
Remember ATGATT! No exceptions! Keep your situational awareness no matter what. I don’t believe that most “accidents” are accidents. An accident is a tree falling on the road right in front of you/on top of you. Wrecks are avoidable. Please ride safe. I see some really dumb riders and cage drivers out there. The tragedy is when they take innocent lives with them. Be responsible and remember that everyone on the road is a person, and they have people that care about them. I wish they would do the same, but the way of the world sucks.RIP everyone who has lost their lives in tragic wrecks.
