Down here in the mountians of southern AZ the laws of thermodynamics will pick you up, slap you around, and leave you with a whole new respect for them. Doing 65-70 on the back roads can drop you down below freezing in a heartbeat. I was resistant to getting winter gear because I couldn’t really afford it, but as soon as those birthday checks rolled in I was looking.

Old way to try and stay warm:
microfiber undershirt, long-sleeved t-shirt, textile jacket with liner, windbreaker over all that, gloves with inserts, microfiber pants, sweatpants, rain pants, textile armored pants, combat boots with thick socks, neck gaiter (turtleneck part of a shirt without the shirt), and scarf over everything- neck gaiter tucked into helmet and under jacket

New way- best 143 bucks I’ve spent in a LONG time:
First Gear Thermo- 1 piece suit

*I think this is last year’s model so it’s clearanced*

    Pros:
The only one that matters- its WARM!!
-Add in that the size I ended up with was a little big on me- it gave me some extra length to play with and pull way
down over my boots and gloves- I rode in this morning and if it wasn’t for the air in my helmet I wouldn’t have known
    it was cold.
    It’s comfy too.

    Cons:
It’s not armored. The material is abrasion resistant (I think is what they called it). It’s not going to disintegrate if you hit the pavement. Better than nothing though.

Bottom line- if you don’t have a lot to spend on winter gear and need something- you can’t beat full body coverage for the price of a low-level pair of pants.

Hmmm….awesome find….. before i take out the wallet….. cold air usually = smaller bladder…… whats the take off time for those..”I didn’t have to go when I left the house, but got to like a Russian race horse now” moments?

Yesterday is a memory, tomorrow is a prediction, but today…… is a Bi**h
