What a sweet bike!! One of the best looking nakeds around in my opinion. This would be a great second bike. One thing that really caught my attention was the “ride by wire” system. No throttle cable, just a postion sensor on the twist grip, and a wire leading to the “brains” on the bike. The really cool thing about that is that there are three different engine maps to choose from. Touring, sport, and rain. Rain really knocks the power down. The rain mode would probably be a good “beginner” mode. As more and more manufacturers adopt this “ride by wire” thing, we might see a beginner mode on some bikes. It’ll also make engine modifications a little easier, too.

BTW, do a search on youtube for the Shiver. If you like v-twin sound, I think this might be the best one I’ve heard.

Similar with the mapping, but I just like the gas tank lower and hidden inder the seat, and the “tank” baing a huge trunk that you can put a helmet in…

Hmm …being a mechanic I have issues with the whole drive by wire revolution. Until they engineer a window motor regulator that doesn’t fail at or about 3 years old, I can’t find myself trusting it. Alot of things can go wrong with open air sensors. Being on two wheels and at highway speeds is not a time I want one to. The whole “power mode” is an old 80’s thing too… even the Plymouth Champ had it one point.
Let me see when they can finally get it right in a car and I might could consider it on a bike.

One of the beauties of motorcycles is their simplicity…We’ll see if this catches-on. It is odd to see something like that on that sort of bike. I don’t even think the big sport-touring rigs (ST1300’s, FJR’s, etc.) have systems like that.
