Brammo Enertia vs. Kawasaki ninja 250 (from 2008-present)
Which would you recommend for a beginner. The Enertia costs around $8,000, while you can pick up a new ninja 250 for possibly $4,000 less. The Enertia is more environmentally friendly despite the amount of energy required to charge it, and the fact that it will still leave a carbon footprint. I am not going to go too far with the ninja details because I am sure that most of you guys are familiar with them.
In your opinion, which bike do you think is better than the other?
Thanks

The Enertia… What, 80 miles? Seriously, I don’t know. But I don’t think it’s anywhere near the Ninja. And then you have to recharge it for HOW long?
When eco-tech catches up with dino-juice-tech, then I’ll be interested.

Which bike is easier to ride?
Which bike is more practical for my use?
Which bike is more efficient? If an electric bike meets you needs and you are willing to pay the premium for an eco bike then the Brammo looks like one of the best choices.
If you need a bike to do highway (>60mph), long trips (> 40miles round trip), or cost is a major factor then the Ninja is far superior.Either should be easy to ride, however the Brammo with its scooter like controls is probably easier. The Brammo has no clutch or gears so its just twist an go. It looks like a neat bike and a fun ride, but it is no motorcycle replacement.

http://www.zeromotorcycles.com/zero-s.phpI don’t think that it will replace the combustion engines in terms of range for awhile, but many folks are making trips to work, school, the gym, store, etc. well under the 60 mile range. I think even in its current iteration the range works fine for a definite target market of folks as their only bike and as a second bike for even more.
My wife is a good example. The majority of her rides are to school and back. 16+ miles each way on roads with a speed limit of 45MPH. Still has plenty of range left to stop at the gym or the store or wherever and plugging it in at night is no different than throwing the tender on.
