    Hello all,

I received a quote for a 2007 Suzuki GS500F that is still new. Does 5400 out the door seem a little high? This guy can not be talked down any cheaper, maybe 100 or 200 bucks when the papers get signed, and he will NOT throw in gear.

If I get the bike, I’ll be buying it in AZ (where I’m in college) but registering it in CA (where my license/home is) if that makes any difference on price.

    Thanks in advance

I paid $5800 before taxes for a 2008. If that price includes PDI, taxes, etc, it doesn’t seem outrageous tome. I think all told my bike was closer to $7k by the time the gov’t got their cut and whatnot. Being Canadian, I’m used to getting hosed on vehicles though.

IMO yes, a dealer had 2 2007’s down here in PA one was $4700 the other was $5200(but only had 200 miles on it) both looked brand new. So to be honest id pass on that price…unless it also is pretty much just a leftover and not been driven..I guess if it is new its not horrible but its not great either..but Bikes are a hot ticket right now…I keep getting told that for right now that the $1100 I spent on a 1999 Ninja 250 was a good deal..IMO I think its still “high” for a bike thats basically 10 years old, but ive been told thats a good deal…so maybe in not the one to ask :) (oh BTW the GS500F that was $4700 has 2500 miles on it and was a 07).

here is a 06 for a example at the same place that they still have

CA has tougher emission laws than other states and some bikes are taylored to CA. I would get it registered in AZ just so you don’t have to pay to get the thing modified right out the door. I would also look to see how cheap it is to register in each state.

I bought a 2007 GS500f with 950miles on it and perfect condition and paid 3800 for it. So i think thats way to high. Pass on that one. If you wait a bike will come to you.

he’s right about that… don’t give in hastily.. be patient… and search for more areas… ‘coz you might buy that one and later find a much much better deal..with gear also….who knows…
