What is your opinion on a ’72 Honda 350 vs. some of the newer 250s for starter/commuter bikes.
I’m 42 years old, 5’10”, 180lbs and plan on using a bike for commuting and weekend rides. I’m way past my crazy days and would be pretty conservative. I’m not a fan of crotch rockets or Harleys, but gravitate towards dual purpose bikes like Suzuki DRZ , Kawasaki KLX, or Yamaha XT. I’d be commuting around town and on hwy about 20 miles each way. Thanks for input.

A ’72 anything is pretty vintage. Do you have mechanical abilities?

    Here’s the link on craigslist.

Looks like it’s gone or been withdrawn.

Even if it had ultra low miles, rubber and seals perish over time and rust or metal fatigue sets in making it dangerous without a serious overhaul.

No, a 1972 anything is really a museum piece or just for running around the doors locally. It’s not reliable transport for a 40 mile daily commute. Heck, even when new, something of this vintage was not reliable transport by today’s standards.
