08 Ninja 250R Shortage?

  I went to the dealership about one week ago to buy the new Ninja 250. My dealer told me there is a huge shortage and he is in the process of trying to locate one. If anyone has any information on this so called shortage i would greatly appreciate it.

  I know that a lot of people on this site are waiting a couple months for bikes to get into dealerships because the demand is so high.

  Didn’t someone say on one of the other posts that Kawasaki is sold out until the 09s? So basically you need to find a dealer that has stock left, or start looking at the used bikes.

  I know my local dealer sold out his annual alotment three weeks ago…

  Yeah before I got my bike the entire Philadelphia Metro area (NJ, NY, MD, DE) did not have any 08 ninjas coming in for a while. Subsequently everyones on a huge waiting list. Yesterday I happen to see a 500cc 08 Ninja sitting in the show room but the sales guy assured me it would be gone by the end of the week. There is def. a shortage and I wouldn’t trust the bikes they are coming out with now, as they are being recalled as quickly as they are coming out. You’d be better off waiting until 09 to get an 08 so that you wont get something faulty…

  What’s being recalled? the 08 250s or the 08 500s? Got a link or something about it? I haven’t heard of any issues from one of my coworker buddies (08 250 ninja), but it’d be good to let him know.

  You can’t get a ’08 Ninja 250 in British Columbia Canada for love or money right now. The dealership has two 500s in the showroom, but they’re butt ugly.
  People went crazy for the new 250 because it’s finally a starter bike that doesn’t look like something you inherited from your Grandpa.

  hey… I walked into my local dealer and they had an 08 250R that someone had bought earlier, but had been unable to finance… I snatched it up and didn’t have to wait at all!

  how do you tell if your bike is included in one of the recalls?

  I actually noticed that there is a weird clip on the front brake line that seems to keep it away from the tire and other pieces… maybe this was the fix to the second recall link jadefoxx215 sent?

  I checked into the recall’s. There were two one for the tail lite bulb and one for some bracket on the front. Regardless i finally found one and i bought it in ebony.

  goodtimes kawi sacramento cali on auburn they can get a 250r in two weeks or less
