Yes, that works fine if your visor’s nice and clean and you’re going along at a fair clip (I’d say nearer 50 than 30 for it to work well). Remember to keep your eyes looking ahead though.
That said, what if you’re *not* going fast and you get muddy water spray on your visor from the car in front? That and your visor’s half fogged-up or wet with condensation on the inside.
As someone who commutes by motorcycle all year 4 to 5 days a week, believe me, I’ve been there and done that, and it’s as scary as hell riding a motorcycle in traffic when you can’t see a damned thing, especially if, like me, you wear glasses ’cause even if you flip up your visor to see past the muddy spray, your glasses get wet and you can’t see through them either.
Much better to be prepared by having pre-treated your visor with Rain-X and having a finger wiper at the ready.
