First, thanks so much for a very helpful site. Community is a good thing.

So many new riders here, all trying to do the right thing. Like having fun and staying around to enjoy the next ride, yes?

I just bought my sweet 07 250R from MotoJava in SF a few weeks ago. Completed the MSF training and have my M1.
The more I learn, the more I respect the process. Riding well isn’t without risk but worth the effort IMO.

After the MSF, it took me a couple days to work up the nerve to take a little spin out into the wilds of Mill Valley.
To make a long story short, I survived the watchful eye of the local PD and the perils of the local church parking lot. heh.
Next ride was under the guidance of a friend through the twisties over Mt. Tam down to the ocean.
Twas a leap into the breach. And very successful. I learned so much from that ride and had the most fun I’ve had with my clothes on ever pretty much. Hooked I am, indeed.

That said, I’m still frustrated with the disconnect between what I know and what my riding abilities permit. Prolly not unlike a toddler learning to walk but the difference is if I make a mistake it could be my last one or at least result in a slow recovery. Bet I’m not the only one feeling that, eh?

Anyway glad to be a part of this group and a huge Thanks to Ben!

Hiya and welcome! It is addicting as heck… Pretty soon, you’ll be taking the scenic route to work or something instead of the direct route and wondering why you’re filling up the bike more… data-lazy-src=
