2007 Ninja 250 with 8K miles

It should have had dealer service at 500 miles. 8k miles is just broken in. $2,500 is a good deal. Make sure it hasn't been dropped by looking for scratches, especially on the mirrors and levers. Check the tires. I bet they are the original and will need to be replaced. You can use this to negotiate. Make sure you get the owners manual.

Kawasaki Ninja 250 R manuals call for a service at 500, 3000 and every 3000 miles afterwards. FYI for price comparison I bought a new 2006 Ninja 250R with 6 miles on it from a dealer 3 months ago for $2800. Great bike, your skills and confidence will grow quickly.

Good to know about the service intervals. If it hasn't been back to the dealership in 8K miles I'll see if I can have a mechanic look at it before I buy it. Although it seems many sellers are not keen on that.

Bike was in really good condition and was an absolute blast to ride around the neighborhood. I got it into 3rd gear and up to 45 and it felt fine. The shifting was easier than the bikes at the MSF (Rebel, Nighthawk) once I got used to the foot position. The peg is underneath me but the handlebars don't need an aggressive lean forward. Stalled it once at a stop sign with a car behind me. rider error though. I think I let the revs get to low.

I have a verbal price agreement that includes a new front tire. A mate who works on his own bikes will give it a once over before I finalize the deal.

Now I have ridden one I know why everyone says the Ninja 250 is good for noob's and is really fun to ride.

I love the seating on my 2006 Ninja, I can sit up close on the tank and have a more upright position, or I can shift my butt back towards the passenger seat and have a more leaned over sport bike feel. Very comfortable. Best part buying used you don't have to go through the 1000 mile break in period!

My work buddy took a look tonight and he said the bike looks in good shape and like it's been cared for. The guy who has been riding it used to build and race bikes before he broke his fibula. Bike has a recent oil change and the valves were done recently also.

Brought it home tonight. Just need to take care of the title switch and the license plate now. No screws for the plate but I'm guessing I can just pick something up at the nearest hardware/auto store.

Just checked out what I need to do and IL is going to hit me with a $390 use tax on the bike because it's an '07.

So when I pick up the use tax form at the DMV I notice the small print that says you only have to pay $25 for a bike/atv.

I'm in Bloomington and it cost $128 to get the bike on the road. $25 use tax for a bike, $38 registration and $65 for a new title. You might be able to get frame sliders for the GS500F. worth the money if your concerned about breaking plastic.
