Crazy Canuck From Nova Scotia

Hi Everyone,
I came across this site after deciding it was time to get back to bikes. The cost of fuel up here in the Great White North has everyone wanting to ride. $1.50 + per litre of high test/91 octane...that's $80 per tank in my thirsty Pontiac GTP.
The site really impressed me so far, keep up the good work!
I've done a bit of riding in the past, but after a somewhat bad car accident involving a drunk driver in a 1-ton Ford truck with a snowplow and my little black Mustang, I had to get away from bikes during my recovery. Injuries and finances convinced me that I wouldn't need a bike license anytime soon. So....here I am...seven years later and eager to start riding again. I'm still bike hunting and stuck on a waiting list in three nearby cities for the local MSF course. I've always been a fan of time tested designs like the Ninjas and Nighthawks. Its nice to see a site where pos(t)ers don't recommend a CBR1000 or a 1600cc cruiser as a great beginner bike, and shorts/t-shirts as proper riding gear.
Thanks to everyone here for the honest reviews and opinions, it's what made me wanna hang around here.

New Bike Pic
Here's a pic of the bike, since I finally got it cleaned up. Other than a minor electrical charging issue and upgrading brake lines, It's ready to roll. Almost 40,000 miles and still going strong.
Very nice! I aboslutely love

Thanks Ben. I think the rack
Thanks Ben. I think the rack was an Honda OEM accessory, backrest slides into the rails. The metallic black is actually a Volkswagen color. Has a graphite look in daylight.
