I know from bicycling experience, the lighter the bike, the hairier it behaves in the wind. I have two road bikes, one a full carbon 16 lb race bike and the other a 21 lb aluminum tank. I always ride the tank on windy days because the other bike feels like it will sail right out from beneath me.
