I am riding year round here in Seattle right now, rain or shine, the only time I dont is when there is snow or ice. The one thing about riding a motorcycle year round is that is does get worrisome when the temperature drops. Black ice is not your friend and I have already gone down with the bike once because of it. It can also get dicy when riding in heavy down pours as it does around here. As Ben said an old beater might be a good idea, perhaps maybe look into getting a dual sport, riding upright will make it easier to control the bike
