I’ve done research on both models as I like the idea of a low-key plain black leather jacket that can double as a casual wear jacket in winter when the bike is put away. That being said, I personally feel that SHIFT gear is way overpriced for what you get. It’s not bad, but their pricing puts them on a level where they’re effectively competing with super-high-end brands like RS Taichi and Alpinestars, when they are most certainly NOT at that level. Feature-wise it is a plain black leather jacket.
Firstgear merchandise I have had experience with (though not that exact jacket) and their quality is awesome. The Scout leather jacket has a number of features you won’t find on the SHIFT jacket including superior ventilation and weatherproofing capabilities. The choice to me is clear. But it’s all on you, man.
