It was gorgeous. 6 of us all total. 4 Vulcan 900’s and 2 Vulcan Nomads went. Couldn’t have asked for a better day to ride as it was partly cloudy the whole time, 85 degrees and low humidity. The first thing I was impressed with was that even though none of us had ever ridden together before we had some of the prettiest “Parade” formation in the intersections of the small towns we went through. Scenery was great, my only regret was that we didn’t stop all that often. I saw a lot of historical markers I would have liked to stop and read.
Couple of lessons learned though. One… I am getting me a drink holder for my handle bars so I can take a sip anytime I want. Long rides can leave you with a bad case of cotten mouth quickly. Two…. sun screen is definitely going in the saddle bags for rides longer then what I take to work. Got just a tad on the pink side on my face. Third….. my 900’s gas mileage almost doubles when staying under the 60 mph range. I am getting the scootworks pulley this Monday also.
All in all it was a great ride. Great people, beautiful bikes, scenery and weather. Best day off I have had in a long time.
