Go with the V&H … .if you’re not good at turning wrenches or heck even if you are… I would highly recommend professional install. Main reason…… warranty. As far as upgrading exhaust…no other mods forward of that will be necessary. In cars sometimes you need a certain set up due to the engine being tuned to having to use some of the back pressure. Motorcycles, I could be wrong, but am highly doubtful its required, with maybe the exception of the single piston pumpers.
With mods remember from the mod back needs changing… seeing your changing the arse end of the cycle… your good. More to remember… if your getting it in you have to get it out…. meaning if you had gotten that RAM air deal you would need a more free flowing exhaust anyways. Since your only doing the pipes…. well imagine blowing through a coffee straw…now using same volume of air and pressure (yes they are different) and blow through say a McD’s straw. Your still getting the same thing out. Less restriction in the bigger straw though. For you the major difference will be the sound. The V&H have the baffles set up to give you a certain sound. Drill out processes only make them louder. Its the difference of say sounding like Hog (bike kind) and a pissed off lawnmower.
My votes the V&H!!
Yesterday is a memory, tomorrow is a prediction, but today…… is a Bi**h
