Yea if the bike has good quality Chrome….not the Wal-mart we just coated it chrome…but REAL nickel based individually dipped chrome the blade will not hurt it. The surface is non porous and anything melted on top just sits there like its on wax. One thing I have noticed is that on some older bikes the Chrome pipes are not double walled. Usually where you get the “blu-ing” effect from the heat and use. The V500 I have is double walled…. the inside will receive the bulk of the heat and the outer wall a significant amount still (ie: don’t touch hot) but drastically less…. enough to keep from “blue-ing” .
