Honda Shadow vt600 2002 Rear Turning Signals
Hi just trying to find out if someone out there can tell me if the rear turning signals are supposed to stay on constantly, like the front ones do? All i have is that little taillight in the back and want to be more visible at night. Ck manual didn't really say...ck fuses nothing out....if they are only supposed to be used for turning signal only don't they make a brighter bulb for tail light, i have seen in a harley store they do for those bikes of course ! Tks !!

Original equipment....no. They are set up as turn signals only. You can find conversion kits on various sites that will allow you to turn your rear signals in to running lights. Usually involves a module and bulb exchange.

Munch..what i meant was the stuff i am using to clean bike is leaving a slight haze or film on the chrome on the bike, just keepin it clean....seeing what products people recommend for keeping their bike parts clean....the chrome is in great condition....how can u tell when you need to replace the back brake.....is there a "wear indicator"
check your MoM for the pad
check your MoM for the pad thickness....if you have it . If not from what I have seen most pads are deemed close to end of useful life right at 1/32's of pad left....or depending the design once you no longer see the groove in the center of the pad.
For the cleaner. Make sure you are buffing it after you clean and dry. Wouldn't use anything that has a wax in it. For my bike I just use S200 clean all. Basically spray on, wipe the tough spots then spray off with water. Take a towel and buff any hard water spots away.

back brake pads
I also have a 2002 Honda Shadow VLX, and it almost always has a back brake squeal sound for the first quarter mile, until the back pads clean themselves. The back brake pads should be checked every time the back tire is changed, and the Honda VLX is known for having the back brakes last many thousands of miles, 10 times longer than the front brake pads, unless you never use the front brake.
I also raised the front wheel off the ground with a jack, spun the front tire in reverse, and held some fine sandpaper onto both sides of the front disc with my hand- I was getting a weird noise when using the front brake, and the sanding fixed it.
