Party at work

Big weekend at work I wish I could have gone out and got more pictures, but once folks show up it is a zoo, just to busy to take pictures. Took like 8 snap shots, thought I would share.

This guy sets up at our events now and again. We use him for custom pin stripping too. He does all of this by hand, paint and brush while you watch and so far always right in the parking lot. Pretty amazing to watch him work. Very talented guy.

O.o I dunno know what to
O.o I dunno know what to think of that. Proud that most HD'ers of old have gone from their stigma of "foreign bikes" , or the guys work is just that cool. Either way I would not have thought I would see a Kawi Drifter on show at a HD dealership/show. Your are correct though, he does awesome work. Wish I had someone here like that so I can get some work done on my front fairing.
Though..... first thing I would point out to him..... native Americans are not blue eyed. Matter of fact you can go to some of the reservations here and see about going to one of their celebrations, some will look at your eyes and if they are blue...you can watch but brown you have a chance to participate. These are the staunch traditional ones..... you know, the ones that didn't buy into the casino schemes.
Ray Price HD here needs to quit sending me advertisements, gets real dang tempting. Luckily the new house, eyeing a Vulcan Nomad 1700 and a fear of being disappointed about HD has kept me away from digging deeper into debt and buying one.

Well, first off . ..you dont
Well, first off . ..you dont get a sale by insulting the previous purchase. LoL So metrics are always welcome at our events. It's not till trade values hit the table they feel bad. It is amazing how far some machines fall, and it isn't us, we give them every dime the wholesaler gives us.
As for disappointment . . hmmm. When the weather is good, my advise would be to rent one and burn a few hundred miles one day. We see folks come off a lot of bikes, even goldwings after riding ours. I am sure the metric dealers see it go the other way. It's all in what you feel. Bikes are not "logical" choices, they truly are emotional.
I get the questions all the time, do the shake, leak, are they reliable . .yada, yada . . .usually propaganda from metric dealers. (-; I just show them my Glide, 44K and pretty as a picture, and runs perfect. But then again, I am a sub 100 rider. A little feel from the power plant is why I LOVE the BT's, it is a heart beat to me. We see lots of high mileage machines, these things are solid as a rock if you keep the fluids fresh.
In any case, you are on a fine machine now. .I wouldn't be in any hurry to trade it just yet. (-; You put a lot of miles on the bike, and thats going to hurt when the time comes. To many folks who own the things for years and run 1000 miles a year if that much. Burn it to the ground and get your moneys worth in miles. I assure you, thats my plan with the Wide Glide. I have not even considered another bike since i bought this one. In time, I would like to add a touring machine. but thats way out there.
I'll have to look up that dealer. Maybe they could use a new salesman or two. ((-; Whats there reputation like?

Don't get me wrong the
Don't get me wrong the "propaganda" I know better then to believe. For me it's kinda like a woman you been ogling over for years....... people would ask me... what would you do if you had the time to do anything with her... my response " Nothing, there is nothing she could do to live up to what my head has had her do, so likely I would get disappointed and dis enchanted" , I know ... a strange man I am . Anyway, my brother in law has one, not really sure what model as he keeps covers over it when he is over seas, however he has every screaming eagle attachment and upgrade you can think of on it. When he fired it up...eh I was not liking it. All the upgrades he had on it made that thing rock and jump like a muscle car with a dead miss. Maybe I am just getting old. I was just sitting there thinking...no way in hell would I be able to deal with that on a 500 mile run. There again I know it was all the options he put on it and he is a weekend warrior. So.... yea eventually I will go rent one, but not until I am ready to part with my 9 or get it paid off....which thanks to tax season should be sooner then I was thinking. Gotta keep the options open for in case I am not disappointed ya know.
You know , I still can't walk into the HD dealership and butt test 'em. It's a respect thing that was ingrained in me since I was a kid. Always was told that a bike is more important to the owner then 90% of the things around him (remember I am southern born/raised....old school) so every time I even think about throwing a leg over one a huge alarm goes off in my head.
Ray Price has a real good reputation. Ray Price the man is an extremely famous Bike Drag Racer from back in the day. Heck the store is a museum just for him . The old man is still kicking too. Him and his wife live above the dealership, but after some medical issues stemming from age and abuse he had to get a Trike made custom for him so he can still hit the pavement on some of the runs. If there's any bike event here Ray Price has his hands in it one way or another.

If you look at my glide at
If you look at my glide at idol, you would think it would make your eye balls shake. Don't feel a fraction of it even at idol. Slip it into gear and let the clutch lose and it all comes together. (-; The V Rod is more like a metric . .runs more like a "car". The V-45 is more like an air craft engine. Not saying you would like it. Metrics are silky smooth, Harley isnt, hard to see what happens to the company when the EPA forces those changes on the company in time.
Our dealer is like what you described. Mr P has had this dealership for 56 years, old racer, and on a trike unless his kids turn there back. (-; He can still ride with the best of them. Not sure what the future will be after him, one of his kids seems involved enough to keep it alive. Rossmeyer's Harley-Davidson looks to be going big corporate ownership since Bruce was killed last year. There is a lot of turmoil in the ranks right now. Like a lot of things in life, times are changing.
As for "respect". Has nothing to do with sitting on a bike. I would never run to a Honda dealer and run around insulting the machine and folks. I would however show up and scope out the new stuff. (-; Respect is in behavior, not attendance. (-;

Don't listen to him Munch!
He's using that silky salesman patter to get you into a showroom sitting on a few bikes. He's already contacted Ray Price telling them he has lined up a sale for them from 1000 miles away, he's that good. Oh and by the way, can he have a job?
I'd give him a reference.
I'd give him a reference. Ever been in a Harley dealership? He's got the low pressure, make 'em comfortable sales pitch down pat. :)
LoL . . When I am at work, I
LoL . . When I am at work, I am at work. Ever see that movie Road House? Remember when Patric says to the crew . .be nice, no matter what, be nice. Be nice till its time to not be nice. (-; Thats me.
Its a show room, folks come to consider buying motorcycles. No reason for that to be a contest. Put your best foot forward and if they like what you have, you are sitting down. I never even mention other brands. I will respond if asked, and try to be as positive as possible when I do, UNLIKE the metric shops around this place. Wins me points by being honest & professional when they clearly see THEY were "embellishing".
Now, come in and yank my chain and I yank back. (-; Some folks just make it far more complicated than it is. When they do, I am as big a prick as they are. Have no problem putting a deal down that they ask for and when they back out telling them they are full of shit, I kept MY WORD. (-;
Old Munch, he is easy. He is not an overly emotional guy. He wants it, he'll buy it. He thinks it isn't the right time, or it isn't right money wise, he wont. He would say it nice, but he would shoot right from the hip, and a smart salesman would listen when he spoke. Might miss it today, but get him and a few of his friends tomorrow because you did. And, he in fact is on a down right good motorcycle. No reason for him to be trading other than that "new bike smell". LoL
Example, got a guy today, was the second time we spoke. The guy was supper low key, and I never pushed. Bought an older road king, nice bike. He is the fire chief for Miami Dade, (think Miami, top guy.). He liked me so much he is going to post me on the union web site as the guy to go to for a new Harley. Thats why you do it right. Ass-wholes make a sale in spite of them selfs, professionals get referrals. I truly take pride in my work.
And honestly, I am a Harley guy. I dont dislike other bikes by any stretch. But money being no object, I'd never buy anything else in way of a cruiser. You guys all know I shopped other bikes, came darn close to buying a Raider. The more I work with Harley, the more I like them as well. Some of these things are just down right sexy to me. (-; Sometimes the company is less than wise in my ever so humble opinion. But then again, from the inside, they have one hell of a loyal following. We get folks from all over the world that come in just to take pictures of a "Harley Showroom in Miami" and they spend 4 figures on Harley gear. So they aren't stupid.
We did another sale today, pre Datona thing. Rode in, and got caught in the leading edge of a cold front on the way home. Log another 20 miles in some COLD ass rain and tons of gusty wind. (-; Took the saddle bags off my bike . .no rain gear. Grrrr
