Rumor: no 2010 Suzuki Models in USA

I'm starting to see rumors flying around on the Ohio Rider sites that Suzuki will not be sending any new 2010 street bike models here to the USA. They're saying that there are currently too many 2009 models still on sales floors... more than enough to meet the 2010 demand. This is, again, an unconfirmed rumor. Obviously not what I wanted to hear, but difficult times call for difficult measures.
Here's a link to one article.... http://hellforleathermagazine.com/2009/11/no-2010-suzukis-planned.html
(I'm not sure how reliable the site is.)

Really?! No suzuki's!
After reading the above article, I looked up the suzuki website for USA which only shows 07 to 09 models, while the Canadian website has 09 and 10 models.

If this is true, they must be trying to control inventory by limiting supply. I wonder how this will affect Suzuki's image long term and demand for their products? I guess they could wait till Summer and surprise everyone with "early" 2011 models? As a global company, they should be able to weather this, but what does that say for the USA if major motorcycle company writes our market off as a lost cause?
Maybe if we wait a few more weeks they will change their minds...
The link now has Suzuki USA
The link now has Suzuki USA confirming this is true. Should mean you are able to get a good deal on a new Suzuki I would think. Are they suffering more than other brands?
Suffering?
Or just making a smart decision? Only time will tell.
Sounds sketchy
If you'd have seen their booth at the Nor Cal Cycle World show this weekend, you'd have thought that they were already out of business and are just liquidating their stock. They had more quads than bikes.
It's too bad.
They are not alone. My old
They are not alone. My old job as a manufacture rep . . in Florida it has been a blood bath . . hardly anyone left from just 2 years ago . . my current job . . the guy is 3 months behind on my commissions . .applying at the Harley dealer next week . .but not holding my breath . .they are hurting bad too. But compared to not getting paid, it's not hard to take a step "up". loL
Recovery is not in the near future . .a little upward bump? maybe. But we have a long way to go before we see the bottom of this one. First time in 30 years I have worried about money. Been slim times . .but this market will make jobs hard to come by . .I am 49, lots of young energetic hot shots just starting out . . not an easy market to survive in.
They will survive . . but like most companies, they will bleed some first. It is a buyers market . .they did a good deal on my trade in . .not something HD is known for.

Sorry to hear it is still
Sorry to hear it is still rough going for you. I had hoped that the new bike was a sign that things were turning up.
Hopefully experience will win out over youth.

LoL . . Sometimes I place a little pressure on myself just to cause myself a need to get moving.
Honestly, the new bike frankly didn't put a blip in my overall outlook. New to used and a motivated dealer . . not quite a wash, but pretty close. Its also about all I owe money on these days. Plus, I am in the group that says borrowed money will soon be very expensive. Figured getting done now was a good idea.
