Xelement Gear from Leatherup?

Anybody wear this stuff (I seem to recall someone here has a jacket or something)? Any thoughts on quality?

The prices are certainly good, and they make the somewhat hard to find "old-school racer" style jackets I like (i.e. cafe racer inspired, but styling that tilts toward the sport rather than the cruiser end of things).

I have 3 riding jackets,

I have 3 riding jackets, several pairs of boots, gloves . . . I have been pleased with it. Mostly watch your armor . .but in general for street use, seems to be a good value in general.

(I LOVE these boots!)

This isn't all I have ordered from leather up, but it is what I ware now 99% of the time. I dont have a single complaint on anything I listed here.

The gloves are ok, but I have found other gloves I like a little better.

Thanks Elwood!

Appreciate the commentary...the fact that you own all that stuff from them is a testament in itself.

I especially like how most of the stuff doesn't have logos on it...hard to find quality motorcycle gear like that these days.

I have the jacket and a pair of boots from them.

As far as the jacket goes, sizes run a lil small so buy a size larger than what you think you'll need. As for the quality it's been pretty good over the past year. The only problems I've had is with the zippers. One of the pocket zippers broke and the pull tab on the main front zipper broke off. I ended up sliding a key ring through it and it works great. Even easier to grip with my gloves on now.

As for the boot, I love them. Since I ride to work every day I pretty much live in them with next to no discomfort. My only problem I've had is with the Xelement logo on the side of them. The "X" has sharp points and tends to get caught on my pant legs.

Hope that helps!

Cool

Thanks Dagger...the Executioner is exactly the jacket I've been looking at...love the classic look with the sport touches (though the name is pretty cheesy).

Glad to hear it (mostly) holds up well and appreciate the info on the sizing...that's the hardest part about buying gear online.

If you go with the Executioner jacket...

...you GOTTA get the Executioner boots. I mean, come ON! Complete outfits are a must.

Yeah

If I got those boots, I'd look like I was heading to the outback with the Toecutter to square off against the Main Force Patrol.

Leatherup discount codes

SantaCruzRider's picture

I've never ordered from them, so this isn't an endorsement -- but just got back from the CW Moto show and Leatherup booth was promoting the following discounts for online orders:

$20 off any order over $150 -- code # 66775
10% off any size order -- code # 66772

Best of luck.

Thanks!

Those codes are making an order more irresistable now...

Saddle Bags

Elwood I remember you posting when you got the Saddlebags from Leatherup, I'm looking at the same ones for my Vulcan 800. How have they worked out for you?

I moved them from the Sporty to the Dyna . . are they the best I have ever seen? Hell no. Are they well worth the $70 or so I paid for them? Hell yes. (-; Someday when I am rich and famous I will drop the grand on hard bags and matching paint . . . for now, these work fine and I can live with how they look.

Its a real stretch to mix the

Elwood1960's picture

Its a real stretch to mix the words "showing off' and my legs in the same sentence, time of year aside. LoL "Torturing with" might work . . . LoL

Hey now, it rained today . . must have dipped into the 70's . .just brutal.

As for the saddle bags . . they are big and roomy . .but in time I'll get something side mounted with ghost brackets. I never take them off . .so hard bags that could be locked and would be solid in the air would be first choice . . see how things go next year with work.

But . .back to topic . .for the cost of the bags from leatherup . .heck, they are great in THAT context.
