New toy for my V-Star...

Hmmm....hubby & I just hit our 22 year anniversary, and he let me get new exhaust pipes for my 650! I got a set of Hard Kromes, and the bike's at the shop now getting them installed. I wanted it to be a bit louder, so we'll see. Hopefully it's not TOO loud, if there is such a thing on a bike. :)
I nicknamed my bike "Piglet." I think it sorta looks like a baby "hog", so it seemed appropriate. I will try to get a picture up after it comes back home.

Too loud = when peoples
Too loud = when peoples windows in their houses vibrate from you riding by, or when the kids in the back seats of cars adjacent to you at a stoplight cry and get scared when you rev your engine. Thats not being a rebel, its just being an inconsiderate jerk. Sorry, my 2 cents.
Not just pic's . .pipes
Not just pic's . .pipes require a vid with sound. (-;
They should be fine. Compared to stock, they will be a lot louder. But I dont think they will be earth shattering.
As far as too loud? Hard to find. (-;
You'll get the solid rumble at idol, and when you crack the throttle it'll pop. Keep that in mind if ya have any spots around that cops like to park and lay in wait at . .they will hear ya coming. LoL
Now . .pull the baffles and maybe you can be a "FAG" with us Harley riders. LoL
22 years . . congrats guys. Impressive. (-;

Nervous but all is well with the pipes...
...I told my guy at the shop I didn't want anything way loud, just something with a nice little rumble, something louder than my stock pipes, which seemed pretty quiet to me. Guess I was uneasy about buying something "sound unheard", much like "sight unseen." But, I just brought it home, and I think it will be fine. Yeah, it's louder, but probably just about like my husband's Sporty. They do look larger in diameter than the old ones. Don't think I will need to pull the baffles, but if needed, I can resort to coughing and throat-clearing if necessary. That episode of South Park was pretty funny.
So, I am trying to put the picture on here since I have added bags, a windshield, and a crash bar along with the pipes since I bought it this summer. And thanks for the congrats on the 22 year mark, too!

Looks great . .that is a real
Looks great . .that is a real nice bike. That is there number one seller ya know.
The pipes look real good. Real clean. I think the stock exhaust on that bike is less than fearsome. (-; I am pretty sure you'll like these better. I feel more in tune with the bike when I can hear and feel a little rumble over the wind.
Memphis shades wind shield? Looks good on the bike . .hows the ride with it?

That is a pretty ride.
That is a pretty ride.
Congrats on 22 years. That is a real accomplishment!
Yes, it is a Memphis Fats shade...
and it does help a great deal. Occasionally, I will get the buffeting or whatever it's called, almost like someone swatting my helmet with boxing gloves. Since it's sporadic, I suppose it's due to the wind and my driving straight into it. And we do have LOTS of wind around here...alas, I suspect my riding season is quickly coming to a close. We've had an unseasonable warm October and until yesterday, a nice November to get some rides in on the weekends. But the drizzly, cold, windy, gray weather has shown up, much to my dismay. :(

Yea, winter. I was suffering
Yea, winter. I was suffering over the weekend. I had to put almost 200 miles on my bike Saturday night . . it must have been 69' out buy the time I got home around midnight. The stars were blinding with the total lack of clouds in the sky . . of coarse being up for a challenge always I still made a point of ducking around on hwy 27 out from under the city lights to brave those stars and that brutal cold for a while . . . how do we survive these winters? Sure, rub it in. Why don't I send some of my -16'F down your way? :)
Alaska has its strong points.
Alaska has its strong points. Miami has its week points . .its all a trade off. I get year round riding, in traffic. Had a dude try to kill me tonight . . he was running the shoulder when I went into an exit on the expressway and I didn't see him coming . . real close . . reach out and rub dirt close. Thats all I have to ride in. Traffic and idiots. You lose a season, but the seasons you have are amazing in an amazing place . . trade offs. (-;

Very true. I wouldn't want your traffic even if I had a roll cage to go with it. :)
