First Break Down

On my way home today I had my first break down. No big deal . .it was a relay in my fuse box . . .

Of coarse I was on the expressway. Got as far as an exit ramp before I ran out of coasting speed. (-; So I am humping it along to nappa with relay in hand after a little poking around. Kid on a sport bike saw by bike as he came off the expressway, and saw me humming with my lid in hand . . he stopped and gave me a ride to the shop and back to my bike. Very cool of him. I will be sure to play it forward one day . .

Oh . .how anyone rides pillion on those things I dont know . . I felt like I was standing on the roof of a car after my low slung seat! loL Very odd place to ride from.

Anyway . .to the kid who gave an old man a lift today ..rubber down brother and thanks. (-;

Glad your breakdown wasn't so

Glad your breakdown wasn't so bad and that someone stopped to help. My one breakdown was due to a faulty kill switch that left me stranded on a 50mph road in rush hour. A 10" step up to the sidewalk meant I was not getting off that road. I was only stuck for 5 minutes before I figured out wiggling the kill switch would get me going again but that was a LONG 5 minutes.

Kudos to the guy who helped out.

Glad you had help. One thing

Glad you had help. One thing I love about the biking brotherhood (or sisterhood) is that most every time a fellow biker will stop to help. Definitely make sure to keep the trend going!

Glad things worked out

That's a great story. I've found that even people in cars can be sympathetic to motorcyclists (when they're not trying to kill us, I mean).

This summer, I was out riding after work, and a big thunderstorm hit. I was able to get to a big tree on the side of a residential road, to wait it out in a relatively dry place. After about 10 minutes, a guy in a Mustang passed me, and I watched as he u-turned down the road, and came back my way. He stopped to tell me that it was really coming down about 5 miles away, where he had just come from, and that I might want to wait it out a little more. A small gesture, but really made my night.

The only group of enthusiasts who are as tightly knit as bikers are old British car owners....b/c with those, it's only a matter of time before you need help on the road. ;-)

Old anything breaks down...

And it's only a matter of time before you need help on the road with old American cars too...

glad you got help out there.

Glad things worked out for you. It is always good to hear good samaritan stories... Helps to keep a little faith in our fellow man alive.
