New record

Well, a few firsts.
Got my first nail.
Tire got its first back yard plug.
Made my first "long" run.
Tire held, bike held, by but however died I do believe. (-;
Had an event with the Sons Of Liberty in Tampa, made the run up out of Miami early in the morning . Had a cold front passing down the state . .and had rain from about 5 am as I crossed the glades all the way into Sarasota. Could not go easy, had to be there around 9am . .so balls to the wall in thunder storms for over two hours. The ride with SOL was great, weather was perfect on the back side of the front. In Florida the cold fronts are the best riding weather we get! Then, money being what it is, I made the run back home.
All told, 566 miles door to door, 15 hours, 13 of it in the saddle. The Sporty held up OK. Without that up graded seat I would not have made it, that I am sure of. The last 100 miles was becoming an act of shear will, it was windy, and I was tired. She is however not the best choice for such long hauls. I can see that if I keep making the longer runs, a much larger bike is in my future.
Oh, full face lids . . This was just the last 50 miles . .just a few on the tail end of the ally. I was having to stop and clean my face shield every 60 or so miles! I was the Miskito and Kant terminator. (-;

Wow, what a "buggy" shield!
I thought my face shield got bad everytime I went past the big hog farm... OR any time I took a ride around sunset time. We have a lot of bugs around here because we live near an egg company, and all the chickens make an additional product (besides eggs) that the bugs can't resist. Anyway, my shield has never been even close to what is in your pictures above.
Sorry to hear about the nail. Apparently no driving problems when you first hit it, since you didn't mention any. It's good to hear that the plug held up on your long ride. So does that mean a new tire may be in your near future?

I have never replaced a plugged tire. Monet being what it is, I will be trusting that this will not be the first plug I have installed to fail. (-; The face shield was hardly even "bugged" back up from its last cleaning. I was almost missing the rain!

Holy balls!
And that's why FF helmets are the S#$% :)
Having all those bugs on the
Having all those bugs on the FullFace helmet is far better than having them on your actual face!!

Ofcourse.....once you get
Ofcourse.....once you get that bigger bike for actual touring and get you a windshield...lol......a little bit of pledge and you will never have to worry about your face shield again.
****We know yesterday existed because we remember it, the future we can not predict as it has yet to happen, and the moment you say now it becomes the memorable past...so WHEN in time do we exist?****
Nice.. Sounds like a great
Nice.. Sounds like a great ride. I know after my first ride from LA to Vegas was when I realized I needed a bigger bike. I loved the 650 but on the long ride through wind and sand storms I was getting blown all over the freeway while riders on the bigger bikes were just cruising along.
Just did another 350 mile run this past weekend and had a blast cruising through the mountains.So far I'm averaging about 1500 miles a month.
Stay safe andlet me know what bike you're thinking of getting.

I wont do anything about a
I wont do anything about a new bike soon. Money is just not there, not unless some amazing opportunity presents itself.
Not sure just yet, I am a V Twin guy to be sure . .but water cooled is showing some attraction and that is hard on the Harley choice. In a perfect world, I pay off the Sporty and keep her for around town and add a BIG cruiser. The two whell version of my old F 150! (-; The big bike could be used and cheap as long trips are not the norm as long as its reliable. Ahh . .someday. Got to be tough if you are gonna be broke. (-;
The truth is my daily commute is short and the need just does not justify the cost. A hotel next time would be a LOT cheaper than a new bike. But then I would not have been home to take care of my Beautiful Granddaughter Sunday! Time, never enough time. (-;

Yeah.. I still haven't given
Yeah.. I still haven't given up my 650.. Figure it's good to have around in case the Liner needs to go into the shop. Originally I was thinking I'd use the 650 for work and just use the Liner on long rides, but once you move up it's hard to go back.. Now when I ride the 650 it feels like I'm on a moped.. lol

Yea, maybe. I have to admit
Yea, maybe. I have to admit my eyes are wandering a bit. Hows that big bike when you want to rip around town in traffic? I am sure I would enjoy a larger bikes ride. Just not 100% sold its as easy a commuter yet.

The Roadliner is a great
The Roadliner is a great commuter bike.. It super light and nimble. A little harder on the turns due to the longer wheel base, but the aluminum frame makes it super easy to handle in traffic. I split lanes on it all the time. If you're open to it, I'd definitely suggest heading over to a dealer and taking one for a spin.

I saw the first picture and
I saw the first picture and thought that you had been riding in snow. I could not figure out for the life of me how you would be getting snow in Florida! Heck, other than what is clinging to the mountaintops, I haven't even seen snow yet this year. :)
It sounds like you had a great ride. Glad that you have found a group that you can have some fun with...
Miami is full of snow.
