Sons of Liberty

As many of you know I am a politically active person. More Libertarian than anything I would think, but by no means a "big gov" supporter. This is a group that is just getting off the ground and that fits quite nicely. Thought a few of you would be interested. Munch? Hate to post it at all, but decided Id just agree to disagree with those who do indeed disagree. LoL Just wanted to share it with a few that I am sure would enjoy riding with folks who share some core values in another area of life as well.

What I do not want to see is a "debate" on this board that divides us on some kind of party lines. Not the place for it. This is only meant to share with those interested in it. I am on the FL part of the board.

hrmmmm....well I will look at
hrmmmm....well I will look at it again when they can seem to agree to disagree on the small issues between them and focus on what they need to.... as far as the NC peeps go that is.

I think the folks who started
I think the folks who started it are Libertarians. In the end, for now what I am for is reeling in government in general. The goal is to retain a society where the ability to debate policy is still possible. (-;
I am still trying to do some back ground stuff . .but in the end it is what you put together locally. If it ever becomes some truther, birther or any other odd ball type thing I'll walk away. But inside any of it, some of those people will be around.
The thing they have is the ability to get a camera on an event. Hundreds of thousands of folks showed up the weekend of that interview in Washington. Yet a little grass root biker club less than 700 strong gets national press. I figure get the right membership mix, and it will shape up as a positive experience. It should not be so much a policy driven organization so much as a concept driven. As in lets limit the out of control federal government so that we still have a voice to debate policy with. (-;
From the discussions I have seen thus far, these guys are not fringe . . just normal folks who want to get involved and who are tired of a vocal few shouting them down. Activism is a bit new for the "non-extremes" in this country. It is good to see it happen, but you have to expect some adjustments and growing pains.
Me, it is one of many outlets I have become involved with. It does however have the possibility to not only be the most enjoyable of them, but possibly one of the most effective.

I can agree with that and
I can agree with that and though there are various reasons why each person is involved it still needs a common ground that has to be presented. Rather then "mob like" requests and expectations. Even if it is an umbrella "Give me back For The People by the People" stand point. I was disappointed in the response that the self appointed president of the movement..His thoughts should have been better planned and presented rather then "well we are here in numbers and each complaint is as individual as their own fingerprints" (no where near exact quote) but it does give a sense of disorganization and "mob-ish" protest.
They need to better get an idea on what their stance is. Smaller Government....all for it... Back to the Constitution...all for it..... but some that are there just to further push the thoughts of B.O.L.T on the constant helmets issue.... that should be relegated to state protests and not federal. That in itself is lending credence to something the rest of the others are standing up for.

Sign on up. LoL I have
Sign on up. LoL I have noticed early confusion in every group I have been a part of. People are used to right left arguments, not constitional discussion. If you look at the "left", they don't stand together on everything, you see anti war, anti growth, anti whatever groups protest. Most of us right wingers have never considered picking up a sign. And part of what makes us "right wingers" is the fact we are "independent minded". The 'religious right" has a bit of a common "agenda", but the rest of us are all over on many things. So these groups are all grass roots efforts and a learning experience.
I would sign up, jump in and be blunt. For me it truly is simple in scope, it is 100% about power. That is the framework of the whole thing. That was the founders framework, the scale was not right and left, it was monarchy and anarchy. That is NOT the framework of debate today, and that is the first thing that has to change. Outside of that consideration, how can you weigh any law?
Look, I know what you are referring to. But you see, thats the game. If a normal everyday guy does his best, but stumbles a bit, then folks will call him a fool. So he remains quite in fear. Our movement is about finding your voice. So what if you dont say it perfectly, stand up and say something. Be heard.
Dont care if you vote democrat or republican or whatever . .just vote for someone who supports the constitution, and make your voice heard. Support that document or be gone. Thats all this whole thing is about. This is just some "guy" that started this. I would hate to be the guy on National TV doing the talking myself. Its a no win position. If you do it badly, well you expect some razzing. If you do it well, you will find folks coming after you in every way possible that will embarrass, discredit and destroy you, this is hard ball. So for average folks to risk it, got to give them a nod of respect for having the courage to do the best they can and not sit home and bitch. (-; Give this group some time, it will find the right voice.
Read "Rules For Radicals". That is the bible of the folks we are protesting against. It will be quite the eye opener. Its all about manipulation on a massif scale. Our "movement" is all about not being manipulated any more. Be involved and be vocal. i have seen you write. (-; Your good. Help shape what is said on 9-12 of next year in Washington when 100,000 bikes ride in.
