Got some gear

I ordered my first jacket and helmet online. An AFX FX-90 Skull Helmet and a Yoshimura AF-C Mesh Cordura Jacket. When I received the package, I was so exited. When I opened the box, it was like those movies where the treasure chest opens and light comes out of the box with a chorus somewhere voicing that high A note "AAAAAAAAAHH".....(maybe, that is too dramatic), but fun nonetheless. I ordered both small sizes since I'm a slim 5'10''. They both fit great. The helmet is a tad tight, but I guess when I start using it often, it will mold. Well, the only thing that I need before I go riding is...... well, a bike. But, I know I'll have mine soon.

I have a Tour master very close in build to that jacket. You'll like it a lot, very comfortable to ride in.

I hope it is. I put it on, and to test it, I stood in front of the fan and I felt the breeze throughout my torso. I think it will do the job pretty well.

Nothing is "cool" parked at a light, not even a T Shirt. (-; It will be quite bearable when moving, it in reality slows the loss of fluids through perspiration, good for preventing dehydration on a long ride . . . and . . .well I have ridden in T shirts . .the "flap" of the thing whipping against your skin at speed is irritating as hell to me, bugs & rain sting when you hit them . .the mesh is just smooth as silk on your skin at speed . .very relaxing. It absorbs a lot of the "ride" that zaps energy on a long run . . . yea, trust me, you like that jacket a lot. (-; It is a good compromise between comfort and protection.

Thanks for the comment. On the bike, I really don't know. To be honest, I really like sports bikes, but around here, getting a used cruiser is easier and cheaper. Not that I don't like cruisers, but I would prefer a "plastic bike", like it is said around here. BTW, nice bike on your photo. What model is it?

My helmet was a bit snug too. I had tried on one size larger, and it was also a firm fit, but I was concerned it would end up too loose once I had worn it. After the BRC, I knew that I had the right size.

I kind of took a risk, since I have read that you should buy your first helmet on a local store or something, so you can test your fit and whatnot. I bought mine on the internet and my head size was between sizes. When I put it on, I said to my self: "Oh, crap. Its too tight!" But once I got in, it was good.

So, owlie, its august. Have you gotten your results yet?
