Ouch

A motorcycle is sandwiched between a car and a truck after an accident July 9 in Jefferson, Wis. The impact of a car driven by a 21-year-old woman landed the motorcycle driver in the bed of the pickup truck that was parked in front of him at a stoplight. There were no serious injuries.

ouchies indeed. rider was
ouchies indeed. rider was lucky he got launched into the bed of the truck (still ouch) instead of getting sandwiched underneath the truck or the car. I'm assuming that's the driver of the car sitting in view from underneath the car. Stupid cager.

Yea . . the picture of being
Yea . . the picture of being bent over the gas tank and wedged under the CAR hit my mind . . . he was lucky indeed. He did not get hurt, and his bike never feel down . . . . . . . . . .(-;

Hahaha, hell, you could still sell that ride in an honest way!
"Never been laid down..."
Wow!
That's an amazing picture. Far more amazing, though, that the rider servived with no serious injuries. Pictures like this give me the chills a lot more, now that I'm also a rider myself.

If the bike wasn't there to
If the bike wasn't there to begin with, I bet she would have hit the truck. Should you always stay side by side to a car on a traffic light to avoid this kind of thing?

It is good to have an "exit"
It is good to have an "exit" . . but look at this one . . no traffic in the pic . .but if you got knocked left . .your in oncoming traffic. Right usually has trucks and cars passing the stopped cars in the turn lane. . .
Sooo . .how do you set side by side or even to one side sort of? (-; I usually give myself a little room to run right in this location if I could . .and other than that . .try to stand up on the pegs just before the car hits you . . get launched rather than crushed.

Hopefully if they are
Hopefully if they are conscious enough to be entering the turn lane and navigate, then they are paying attention. But, then again, I guess those people who text and drive don't always stay in their lane either. I like your approach... stay right, stand tall.
Thanks for the advice. Good
Thanks for the advice. Good to know.
In the situation in the
In the situation in the picture, the guy should have had his bike pointing to the side of the truck, bike in first gear and watching his mirrors. Then he could have made a quick exit past the side of the truck.
With the side walk to the
With the side walk to the right, low curb . . he could have made that move. Plus . .bet that girl was looking at the stereo or phone and never slowed down. He might have spotted her and known she was coming if he had been on his toes.
Even had he tipped the bike over on the curb . .that would be a simple fall as compared to being slammed that way . . . .
