What's Your Day Job?

Sales . . Appliances, to the trades mostly. (Builders, designers, etc.) Mostly high end . . .think folks who drop an average of 30K on there appliance package. But in the end "sales" is the answer. If the market stays this low I'll be selling something else. (-;

I'm a bicycle mechanic by day (always on 2 wheels!), and I do websites by night... :D

Write computer software by day. Build furniture and brew beer by night. And lately, binding books, which other than a difference in materials isn't very different than building furniture. I even use all the same tools.

I'm an Ex Paratrooper with the 1-501st Task Force and now I'm in contract security for DHS. Basically all the responsibility of the police but only with federal contracts. Not a bad living though. Get to deal with all the crazies that assume that all their life's problems are obviously inside federal buildings. I mean come on haven't you seen X-Files?! It's all a big conspiracy. I'm talking tin foil hats and all. If it's not some one trying to blow me up while I'm driving down the road, or shooting at me from rooftops, it's some local trying to stab me because I'm "The Man"

My wife and I quit our typical urban jobs, mine in computer sales and consulting, hers as an attorney, to clean toilets and flip omelets. We moved to Vermont and purchased a country inn.

as of right now im student majoring in manufacturing engineering...i have 4 more classes left...and i have an engineering internship on the side....(tried to get an internship at progressive suspensions...but they denied me haha...is it even a big name in the motorcycle world?)

I'm a CNC machinist responsible for an automated machining cell. I also attend Embry-Riddle online majoring in Technical Management. I've been in the Army (11B), in law enforcement, a dive store manager, retail gun dealer, but above all a Dad.

I'm a clerk at the Allegheny County Health Department's Tuberculosis Reasearch & Treatment Center in Pittsburgh, PA. I mostly just do data entry and answer phones, but there have been a few occasions where I had to play Doctor. You'd be surprised how many doctors out there are idiots. It's scary. Also a student going for a degree in Computer Engineering Technology.

I design and analyze data from clinical trials. Most of my work has been in depression, schizophrenia, insomnia, and Alzheimer's Disease.

Student/sand filter joiner/tennis racket stringer. I am student by day, joiner by the afternoons and a stringer by... uh, well, when they pay me to do it. I'm halfway through my bachelors degree, I also volunteer assembling some construction tools and I also play tennis and I learned to string rackets.

I about laughed my head off when I saw your picture Amoryl!! I'm a mainframe Cobol programmer here for a major international Bank. Maybe you've heard of it. Our slogan is, hmmm, let me see if I can get it right..., Money's what matters... We're what matters.... Hiring people overseas and laying off Americans is what matters.... I can't quite remember it, but you probably know who I'm talking about.
Let me cut to the CHASE, I got my 2-year associate degree in Computer Science right at the Y2K scare, and have been (for the most part) happily employed since. After working several years as a contractor, I started working where I am now as a FTE (Full-time employee) about 4 years ago. It's pretty nice actually. I work from home 1 day a week, and when my 8 hours is over, I'm usually free to go home and spend the evening with my family.
