Back in the saddle again

Greetings,
I am finally back on a bike after many years. Took the local BRT course a month ago and just picked up a used (2008) Vulcan 500 LTD last night. Took about an hour to ride home from the dealership on country roads practically the whole way. The Vulcan performed flawlessly; good power banding with the 6 speed tranny (perfect for this type of bike), handling and braking were great. I am 6' tall, 240 lbs and was able to easily accelerate to 65-70 with more throttle on tap if needed. And, compared to the Honda VLX that I tested, the Vulcan is much more comfortable. I could have easily ridden for another hour or two. So far, the little Vulcan has totally met my expectations.
