NC Rookie

Hey everybody.

I stumbled upon this website earlier this afternoon, and after spending a few hours browsing and reading articles, I decided to join the BBM forum ranks. After finishing another year at Appalachian State, I had my interest sparked in motorcycles, and have been doing loads of research and work to have my goal of owning a bike and riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway accomplished by next semester. Hopefully I'll get into a MSF course soon, but as of right now I'll be busy working in the Charlotte area.

Say, ya'll got some pretty good scenery up there, eh? Especially during the fall?

Yeah, it's beautiful from late August to early October. Afterwards, the cold weather sets in and everyone's confined to their apartments and dorms until late April. But before then, it's absolutely idyllic.

I am in raleigh we got 2 others I think in NC on here. One is out your way . Good luck on the MSF... if the public classes are to full I do know there is a HD dealer up your way that has the Riders Edge course.... of course it costs a bit much.

grew up around there

I went to Parkway Elem. in Deep Gap, Watauga High and Ashe High. A little too hot for me, but I miss my friends and the falls! Welcome, I would love to ride the Parkway on a nice crisp spring morning.....

Another Carolinian, kind of

I grew up in Durham, and I definitely identify more with NC than with Massachusetts where I live now. I hope to move back down there sometime, hopefully sooner rather than later. Best of luck with the MSF and the Blue Ridge ride. Just don't rush into a ride like that. Make sure you have a decent amount of shorter, calmer learning rides under your belt before you tackle a long curvy ride.

Howdy,

I just saw your post. I'm from Davie County. I have a lot of relatives that graduated from App including my Mother. Great riding of all types all over the NC mountains.
