Munch, I think you and I are old enough to know the difference. I barley recognize this country today. Freedom has become ridiculed rather than cherished. I fear my children will live in an awful country. A generation of kids have been indoctrinated in the schools since the 60's to not understand, or respect the value and responsibility of freedom. They blurred the lines of expanding freedom to the oppress we in fact had, to some warped idea of class warfare. Success is evil, dependent and obedient is to be rewarded . . hmmm.

The sad thing is . .like all country's that fall to this sickness . .it is not like some dictator says I am going to dominate you . . it is a process of promises of nirvana. Every step gives the government more power, and the people less. Every step programs an acceptance of obedience. One day . .there will be enough power on the table for one man to consolidate it all, and it will be to late. Once lost, freedom is only found again in war . .and that as history teaches us can take hundreds, if not thousands of years to happen.

I'll tell ya this, for the first time in my life, I am asking myself when my government becomes my enemy. What is the line that requires action. It is clear to me that the grab for power is far beyond debate now already. Such an odd and difficult place for an old Marine to be. I keep a copy of the constitution on my desk . . I look to it often for balance and incite. It is after all the constitution I was sworn to protect.

I fear for the survival of the Idea that this country is . . . the idea that we are free people, and those rights are not permitted by government, but given by God . . that is America to me. Hell, I don't even believe in god, but I get it . . .
