So I’m moving from Texas back to California soon. After hearing the gas prices out there I’ve finally decided to do something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and get a bike. I’d had my mind made up with the Buell blast but I kept thinking about the ugly front end of that thing. then i was introduced to the 08 Ninja 250r. Wow is all i have to say. So i was thinking is a 250 really gonna be enough for me? I mean I’m 6′ 1″ and 185-190 depending on what time of day it is. I looked at the other ninjas and the 250 and 650 look amazing. The 500 isn’t terrible it’s just not great looking. I Think it would be a great first bike and I’m sure the 650 is good for people with at least a little experience but i have none outside of a pocket rocket. So, unless the 500 gets a face lift for 09 It looks like I’m gonna go with the 250. Which i think is a pretty good choice cause my wife is tiny and wants to learn to ride so I could give her that when I’m ready to move up to say the 650 or zx-6r. What do you think?
Welcome. Jiriki has a ’08 ninja 250 and is roughly your size and weight… maybe a bit heavier… looks like a body builder… anyway, he was doing just fine keeping up with me on the highway at the end of our first bbm meetup. The 250 should be plenty fine.
