So I disappear for a year just to pop in here because I always get sound advice and no B.S. Any-who, can anyone tell me anything about a Honda Shadow 650? I’m going to go look at one being sold locally but, as the title says it seems to be a mythical bike. I’ve asked around and even the Honda dealership didn’t have a straight answer. They told me that they think they did and quit making them in the late nineties. Makes sense since the one I’m looking at is a 99 model (if it exists). I’ve Googled it and only come up with forums that have other confused buyers asking the same question without any real answers. I know they made a 600 and I seem to have found pictures of a few 650’s floating around in the ether of the internet. None of those pics are at a good enough angle or close enough to read any lettering though. I’ve talked to the guy selling it (old retired Sgt. Major) and smelled not one whiff of a lie. Maybe he’s just confused or this is the real deal. I’ve always liked the points of view and answers I’ve gotten here before so I’m back for help. The sooner the better since I’ll be taking a 200 mile trip to check it out next Wednesday if it’s legit.
